REGIONAL WINNERS

Scotland

SCOT_ScottishCrimeCamus-for

Scottish Crime Campus, Gartcosh, Lanarkshire

The imposing Scottish Crime Campus is a unique project bringing together a number of law enforcement agencies. This Scottish Government funded project has created the Government’s largest single investment in architecture in service of the community. Despite the vast scale of the development designed to accommodate some 1200 staff, the campus has been cleverly formed of four connected elements which form a U shape around a central atrium space. This space has been designed to facilitate communication and inter disciplinary working but also enables clear inside outside connection.

 SW_ImperialTobacco

Imperial Tobacco, 121 Winterstoke, Bristol

An Imperial owned site and redundant factory premises on an existing operational site proved to be the ideal location for the new HQ. The design team set out to challenge and change the working methods, consolidating numerous cellular departments split across outdated and dysfunctional accommodation and introduce a more open and transparent way of working. Sustainability was also a key driver as the Client wanted the building to be one of the most energy efficient and environmentally friendly in the South West. The final completed project responds to its context and mirrors Imperial Tobacco’s environmental ethos.
