After we were unable to host a lunch in 2020 we are excited to hold this year's event in the recently renovated University Arms. On the edge of Parker's Piece it is an ideal city centre location with great views.

Following lunch, delegates will enjoy a speech given by the renowned Ken Shuttleworth.

GUEST SPEAKER: KEN SHUTTLEWORTH

Ken Shuttleworth

Ken Shuttleworth is recognised as one of the world’s leading architects and continues to deliver a portfolio of iconic, innovative, sustainable buildings. In the course of his 40-year career, he has worked on some of the most groundbreaking architectural landmarks in the world.  

In 2004, Ken founded Make Architects, an award-winning employee-owned practice with a reputation for design excellence. Prior to this he built up a remarkable portfolio of experience as a partner at Foster + Partners.  

Since Make’s inception, Ken has led the practice and acted as a guardian to its 150 staff, spread across studios in London, Hong Kong and Sydney. He oversees the design development of every scheme, and under his leadership Make has established itself as one of the UK’s foremost architectural firms, winning numerous projects and accolades across a wide range of sectors in the UK and abroad. Among Make’s recently completed schemes are Brookfield Place Sydney, Three New Bailey in Salford and 80 Charlotte Street in London. Projects currently on site include The Madison, 40 Leadenhall and 22 Ropemaker in London and The Education Building in Sydney.  

He is the former President of the British Council for Offices, is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a member of the Science Museum Masterplan Advisory Board and a member of the UK Government Advisory Group on Professional and Business Services. In 2013 he set up the Future Spaces Foundation to advance research and debate about the spaces we live in and launched The Architectural Drawing Prize in 2015 to celebrate the skill and expertise behind the medium.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS 

1. Confirmation of booking: Bookings are only accepted with full payment in advance. Your table booking is not guaranteed until you have received written confirmation from Createvents. If you do not receive written confirmation within 10 working days, please contact us on 01183 340085.
2. Cancellation policy: Unfortunately due to commitments with the venue, we are unable to offer refunds. The BCO are unable to raise invoices in advance for payment but will issue a VAT receipt after payment has been received.
3. Special dietary requirements: Instructions of how to order will be sent with your wine ordering information. Simply complete and return as instructed on the form. This form must be received at least 1 week prior to the event, otherwise charges will apply and it may not be possible to take care of the specific requirements of any guest. 
4. Alterations: It may be necessary for reasons beyond our control to alter the venue or the date of the event. We will give you as much notice as we can and your booking will be transferred to the new venue or date.
5. Event cancellation: If we cancel the function we will refund all booking fees paid. We do not, however, accept liability for travelling, accommodation, or any other expenses incurred as a result of any cancellation or postponement of the event.
6. Loss or Damage: Our liability for loss or damage incurred as the result of cancellation or postponement of the event is limited to the amount of your booking fee.
7. Guest speaker: The guest speaker is subject to change as a consequence of illness, accident or other reasons beyond our control. In such a circumstance a suitable replacement will be found.
These terms and conditions are governed by English law and the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
