Description
The scheme provides over 3.5m sqft of predominantly office accommodation in twin 250m-high office towers positioned on opposite sides of a rail corridor, linked at high level by a sky park. The overall development integrates closely with the public transport system providing a new bus terminal for Metrolinx, as well as new connections into Toronto’s Union Station, subway and lightrail (LRT) systems.
The towers will form the new headquarters for CIBC Bank, extending Toronto’s financial district towards Lake Ontario creating a ‘campus-style’ development on Bay Street. Bridges and walkways will link directly into Union Station.
The project is being constructed in two phases, the first phase, the 54-storey 81 Bay Street, is currently on site and due for completion later in 2021.
Dominic has been involved in the design and construction of many of the practice’s key projects, with a particular emphasis on tall buildings, leading on the design of the award winning 440m high Guangzhou International Finance Center and a series of mixed-use high-rise schemes, masterplans, transport and leisure projects in the Asia Pacific region after founding the practice’s Hong Kong office in 2012. He oversaw the construction of several projects in China and led the design of the 330m Yuexiu Fortune Centre in Wuhan.
