Description

Over the past few years, the built environment has ramped up its ambitions and commitments to achieving net zero carbon.

A key element of this is measuring operational energy consumption in existing buildings and estimating it for new developments. Two NABERS UK schemes ware launched last year for commercial offices:

• NABERS UK ‘Energy’ - measures in use operational energy data and compares the performance against benchmarks to give a star rating of 1 to 6, with 6 being the best.

• NABERS UK ‘Design for Performance’ is the operational energy assessment methodology for a new building which can be used to estimate a NABERs rating.

Cundall will give an overview of these schemes and how to improve a building’s performance through examples from recent projects.
