We invite you to join us for the inaugural BCO Annual East Anglia Lunch on Thursday, 11th October 2018, this will be a great opportunity for networking with BCO members and industry professionals. Taking place in the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel, the only hotel on the River Cam, delegates can enjoy its stunning riverside views and landscaped gardens. Following lunch, delegates will be able to listen to an informative speech given by Paul Finch.

Paul finch

Paul is programme director of the World Architecture Festival and editorial director of the Architectural Review and Architects’ Journal. He has more than 40 years’ experience as a journalist, working for Estates Times (deputy editor, 1976-83), Building Design (editor, 1983-94) Architects’ Journal (editor, 1994-99), Architectural Review (editor, 2005-09), and Planning in London (joint editor since 1994).

He served as deputy chairman to Sir Stuart Lipton at the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment, where he also chaired the design review and regional committees, from 1999 to 2005. He chaired the London Olympics design panel from 2005 to 2012, and subsequently chaired CABE between 2011 and 2014, overseeing its merger with the Design Council, where he was also deputy chairman.

Paul is a history graduate of Selwyn College, Cambridge. He is an honorary fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects and of University College London. He also holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Westminster and is an honorary member of the British Council for Offices. He was awarded an OBE for services to architecture in 2002.

Tickets for the event will not be issued until payment has been received in cleared funds.
1. Confirmation of booking: Bookings are only accepted with full payment in advance. Your table booking is not guaranteed until you have received written confirmation from CreatEvents. If you do not receive written confirmation within 10 working days, please contact us on 01183 340085.
2. Cancellation policy: Unfortunately due to commitments with the venue, we are unable to offer refunds. The BCO are unable to raise invoices in advance for payment but will issue a VAT receipt after payment has been received.
3. Special dietary requirements: Instructions of how to order will be sent with your wine ordering information. Simply complete and return as instructed on the form. This form must be received at least 1 week prior to the event, otherwise charges will apply and it may not be possible to take care of the specific requirements of any guest.
4. Alterations: It may be necessary for reasons beyond our control to alter the venue or the date of the event. We will give you as much notice as we can and your booking will be transferred to the new venue or date.
5. Event cancellation: If we cancel the function we will refund all booking fees paid. We do not, however, accept liability for travelling, accommodation, or any other expenses incurred as a result of any cancellation or postponement of the event.
6. Loss or Damage: Our liability for loss or damage incurred as the result of cancellation or postponement of the event is limited to the amount of your booking fee.
7. Guest speaker: The guest speaker is subject to change as a consequence of illness, accident or other reasons beyond our control. In such a circumstance a suitable replacement will be found.
These terms and conditions are governed by English law and the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
