Nick Ridley, Executive Director of Colliers CRE, has been appointed President of the British Council for Offices (BCO) for 2008-09 at the BCO's AGM on Tuesday 15 July 2008, at The Willis Building, 51 Lime Street, London EC3M 7DQ.

 

BCO announces changes to the 2009 Awards programme

In 2009 the British Council for Offices will be introducing Regional Award Presentations. This will provide all entrants with the opportunity to gain recognition within their region before continuing on to compete with other regions at the National Awards in October 2009.

Due to these changes the deadline for entries will be on 27 November 2008.

BCO President addresses Russian Conference on the BCO Specification

Not all eyes were on the football in Moscow last week (May 2008); as well as the final of the Champions League, the city was also hosting the IM Commercial Property Conference on 'A' class office development in Russia (Friday 23 May). Gordon Carey, president of the BCO, was invited as keynote speaker.

Occupier Density Study

The BCO has commissioned a research study to examine current densities of occupation in office buildings. The output from the study will inform the next version of the BCO Guide to Best Practice in the Specification of Office Buildings.

Pringle Brandon Consulting, have been appointed to carry out this study and will be aiming to create and analyse a comprehensive sample of data on occupancy practice.

 

BCO announces the third edition of Skyline magazine

In June 2008 the third edition of Skyline will be produced by Property Week and Building, in association with the BCO. Skyline will cover the latest developments in the commercial offices sector from design and construction through to letting and accommodation, picking up highlights of the BCO Annual Conference 2008 in Brussels and BCO research topics.
