The National Lawn Tennis Centre in Roehampton, South West London, designed by Hopkins Architects, has won 'Best of the Best' award at the BCO Awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Tuesday 7 October 2008.

The British Council for Offices (BCO) has responded to former RIBA president, Jack Pringle's, rallying calls at the BCO Dublin Conference in 2006 that it revise its recommendations for office temperatures upwards in the summer months from 22°C to an increased temperature of 24°C to save on energy consumption and ultimately help tackle global warming.

Nick Ridley, Executive Director of Colliers CRE, has been appointed President of the British Council for Offices (BCO) for 2008-09 at the BCO's AGM on Tuesday 15 July 2008, at The Willis Building, 51 Lime Street, London EC3M 7DQ.

 

BCO announces changes to the 2009 Awards programme

In 2009 the British Council for Offices will be introducing Regional Award Presentations. This will provide all entrants with the opportunity to gain recognition within their region before continuing on to compete with other regions at the National Awards in October 2009.

Due to these changes the deadline for entries will be on Friday 28 November 2008.

BCO President addresses Russian Conference on the BCO Specification

Not all eyes were on the football in Moscow last week (May 2008); as well as the final of the Champions League, the city was also hosting the IM Commercial Property Conference on 'A' class office development in Russia (Friday 23 May). Gordon Carey, president of the BCO, was invited as keynote speaker.
