Calling for entries to a design charette for the industry's rising stars
BCO's NextGen Committee, Pringle Brandon and onoffice magazine invite entries for a one-day design charette to design an Office of the Teenies! This event aims to bring together energetic, creative and engaged individuals from varying discilines in our industry.
Office design has fast evolved over the last ten years, leaving behind autonomous, uninspiring spaces to embrace democratic, dynamic and flexible work environments.Whether it's virtual, pop-up, wireless or mobile, we want to know what big trends will be shaping office design in the "teenies" - and ultimately, what today's industry visionaries see the ideal office looking like in a decade's time.
Teams will come up with forward thinking ideas and solutions encompassing how they envisage office design to change over the next 10 years. Teams will work closely to foresee trends and develop ideas and proposals using hand sketches, diagrams and textiles. Each team will present to our panel of industry expert judges in a 10-minute presentation at the end of the design day. The winning team will have their design published on the front cover of onoffice magazine's first 2010 issue. All teams partaking in the charette will be included in the cover feature.
Individual entries will be required, in the first instance, by attaching a A4 pdf with the following:
- Contact details
- A hand-sketched image / diagram to represent your initial ideas on what an Office of the Teenies will look like
- Plus 50 words on an issue you think will affect office design over the next 10 years.
Entrants and teams will be pre-selected as a limited number of places are available. The one-day design charette will take place in London at the RIBA on Friday 23 October. Please save the date and keep thinking about future office trends.
