The report by PLP Architecture together with Reading, Loughborough and UCL universities provides an update of the latest technologies and investigates the potential future uses of wearables in the workplace. To this end, the authors conducted a pilot study to establish a methodology for undertaking an occupant health and wellbeing assessment in a real-world scenario. The results of the pilot study show the impact on health & wellbeing of working in different settings including open plan, cubicle, biophilic and home working using these technologies.
Wearables play an important role in the health and wellbeing agenda, which has become even more important in these pandemic times as offices need to be designed and managed for low infection risk in addition to all the other environmental attributes required.
