Engaging with the health, wellbeing and productivity agenda promises significant benefits for companies who choose to stay ahead of the curve. While our understanding of the implications of office environment on health, wellbeing and productivity is deepening, this is by no means universal. In recognition of the importance of this issue the BCO has commissioned a number of studies recently including Wellness Matters, Improving Productivity in the Workplace ( WLP+) and Defining and Measuring Productivity in Offices. Currently, the BCO is one of the dissemination partners for the BRE Biophilia Project.

This Briefing Note summarises the findings of a workshop which facilitated debate and discussion on this topic. The workshop focussed on the business case for a productive office; identified the current barriers to update and considered the way forward for the industry in overcoming some of the challenges.
