BCO NextGen Scotland Talk & Tour: BlackRock, Edinburgh

Join BCO NextGen Scotland for an exclusive tour of BlackRock’s Edinburgh headquarters at 20 Brandon Street: the winner of the BCO Scotland Corporate Workplace Award for 2026.

Occupying 140,000 sq ft, the project is an outstanding example of the successful refurbishment and repurposing of a complex site to create a sustainable, future-ready workplace.

Comprising a listed heritage façade, a link building and a modern atrium, the challenge for designer MLA was to create a connected workspace, prioritising collaboration and enhancing customer experience.

A key feature is the reimagined atrium as the social heart of the workplace. With a new central staircase, bleacher seating, café and excellent shared amenities, it encourages movement and facilitates connection.

BCO members will gain valuable insight into the adaptive reuse of an existing, unoccupied building and the creation of a people-centred workplace that prioritises sustainability, inclusivity, well-being and community.
