BCO Bitesize Tour: 1 Colmore Row

The BCO NextGen Midlands invites all Main and NextGen members to a fascinating Bitesize Tour of 1 Colmore Row!

Located at the very heart of Birmingham’s Colmore Business District, immediately adjacent to Snow Hill Train Station and surrounded by high quality cafés, bars, restaurants, and shops, 1 Colmore has been revitalised and repositioned within the local commercial office market. The project sits as an exemplar in how a tired and dated 1980s office building can be transformed into an inspiring twenty-first century workspace. Through a series of modest yet thoughtful interventions, the building has been given a completely new identity and has taken a leap forward on its decarbonisation pathway.

Now fully let after a series of CAT-A ‘plug + play’ fitouts providing an elevated workspace offer, the scheme successfully tackled the building’s issues with a lack of discernible identity, poor arrival experience, compromised floorplates, and no occupier amenities, with a focus on reducing energy consumption and low carbon solutions.

The tour will be led by Associated Architects who led the project and will cover the low carbon focus and importance of reducing energy consumptions whilst delivering an inspiring and sophisticated new workspace.
