BCO Midlands & UKGBC: Site Visit to Unusual Rigging HQ
BCO members are invited to join UKGBC to visit Unusual Rigging HQ, a 4-acre site in Bugbrooke, Northamptonshire, that stands as an example of circular workplace design and innovation.
Unusual HQ won the 2025 BCO Regional Corporate Workplace award, with BCO judges hailing the project as a “pioneering achievement” in sustainable design. The two-storey building uses biogenic and reclaimed materials, generating more energy than it consumes. Focused on low-carbon design and circular economy principles, it successfully balances functionality, creativity, and aesthetic appeal. Notably, it has been designed for full disassembly and reuse at the end of its life – a rare distinction for a commercial building.
The site visit will kick off with short presentations to set out key concepts and the thinking behind the project, followed by tours of the building to explore practical examples of circular economy solutions. Afterwards, there will be a networking session and drinks with industry peers.
