Benefitting from BIM?
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a digital representation of physical and functional characteristics of a facility. Those involved in the building process are constantly challenged to deliver successful projects despite tight budgets, limited manpower, accelerated schedules, and limited or conflicting information. The BIM concept envisages virtual construction of a facility prior to its actual physical construction, in order to reduce uncertainty, improve safety, work out problems, and simulate and analyze potential impacts. It has been adopted in schemes from cradle to construction and seems to be making 2D CAD drawings obsolete. BCO NextGen in London invite you to attend a panel discussion with representatives from the modelers, consultants and clients. We will look at the advantages and constraints with incorporating such systems and the impacts felt on both businesses and potential new schemes. The event will feature a five minute presentation of the panels’ experience and opinions of using the system in practice. Questions will then be posed along the lines of:
