London Tour – New Brook Buildings, London
New Brook Buildings occupy a prominent site in Covent Garden and was originally developed in the late 1950’s as an “office rent slab”. John Robertson Architects has successfully transformed the potentially obsolete building for Henderson Global Investors, creating both a flexible and practical workplace with excellent views over Central London.
The building has been extensively refurbished to provide a new entrance hall, flexible well lit office space with floor to ceiling glazing and careful detailing of the high quality finishes. A number of significant sustainability measures have been incorporated achieving an ‘Excellent’ BREEAM rating.
- Re-positioning of the building entrance.
- A new cladding system improving thermal and environmental performance and appearance, and maximising natural light.
- Creation of additional office space in a new podium at the rear and a new extension at 9th floor.
- New lifts incorporating a fire fighting strategy to enable the additional office space creation.
- Improvements to the public realm.
