Funded by Innovate UK and ESPRC, the Whole Life Performance Plus Project (WLP+) is undertaken by LCMB together with 7 Consortium Partners (including the BCO). The project is dedicated to exploring the impact of environmental qualities on productivity. This seeks to empirically validate the link between indoor environmental conditions and staff utilisation, output and absenteeism, by demonstrating the solution in 3 commercial case study buildings where there are available data on staff productivity. The aim is for the tested solution to then be developed into a software-based supervisory control with the capability to reset the controlled environment to maximise occupant productivity, comfort conditions, whilst minimising energy and fuel use and costs in commercial office environments.

The project outline and methodology as well as some preliminary results have been set out in the WLP Briefing Note. The full findings of the project will be published and made available on completion in October 2018.
