BCO Midlands Research Launch: Review of Post-Pandemic UK Office Utilisation
Since the COVID pandemic, the office has found itself to be under intense scrutiny with developers, occupiers, architects and designers all trying to figure out what the office is or should be about. Guidance on the right strategy is something everyone is trying to get their heads around, and with a potential bounce back in occupation, what are the real challenges in demand management?
The recently launched BCO paper Review of Post-Pandemic UK Office Utilisation offers a series of views on how utilisation rates are being interpreted. Does it offer enough information on the next direction of occupation and activity?
BCO Midlands is excited to present this breakfast panel event hosted by Lloyds Bank at their new office in Birmingham. The event aims to explore what is truly important when considering densities, utilisation rates, and what we should plan for.
Results have shown that experience has risen to the top of the agenda for many CRE leaders, with growing recognition that workplaces must be shaped around employee needs and informed by data-driven insights rather than guided by one-size-fits-all solutions. But are there signs that employers and landlords are over-providing amenities? So if the world of the workplace is not about a sea of desks or amenities, what should it be about?…. It’s not about the commute, but what’s at the end of it.
The author of this latest research paper will make up the panel debate:
• Dr Nigel Oseland, Chartered environmental psychologist – Workplace Unlimited
• Thomas Dixon, Head of Workplace Strategy – Lloyds Bank
• Scott Rutherford, Head of Office Agency – Cushman & Wakefield, Birmingham
The panel will be moderated by Kris Krokosz, lead on Workplace consulting at Squaredot Interior Design.
Delegates will also have the opportunity to tour the new offices at Lloyds Bank after the panel debate.
